So I am less intelligent than you because I can see the long term gain of Socialized Medicine? Are you afraid you may not make money? Maybe have some some oversight on how many procedures are being done? Oh, and thanks for suggesting fish oil, yes take massive amounts of fish oil and see how your body is effected. Cancer? I think they are trying to get people to eat better, as most minerals and vitamins are not digestible in tablet form.

Thinking -

I made no comment to the effect that you are less intelligent than me. I was not saying to consult a professional on socialized medicine, only on going to a professional for advice on nutrition rather than the government. As for the fish oil, multiple studies have shown the efficacy in a number of areas of concern. I do not agree with your assertion that "massive" amounts will do any good. And if getting people to eat better was helpful for cancer, our responses would be getting better, not worse. And you are right, most supps are not very digestible, so getting high quality product is important. Too much garbage out there. BTW, you only need look to the debacles in Canada, UK, etc to see the future of socialized medicine.

"Please remember that this is the same government that is currently bringing us Obamacare." So if I support this, than I think different than you, and it sounds like you are right, so I must be wrong. As for the multi-billion dollar industry of supplements, I still feel that most of it could be done with a good diet. Don't overdose on Vitamin C, drink some orange juice or have a grapefruit. Almost all vitamin D is not digestible or absorbed with over dosing on other vitamins. Just stand in the window and let the sun hit you. Your body "crashes" after you overdose on vitamins because it doesn't know when you are going to stop taking them. And how many people know which are fat soluble and which are water soluble? Which are the " high quality"? does that mean more expensive? I would say a large part of the industry is older people looking for a magic cure. As of diet, you telling me we are eating better now than 100 years ago? Sorry for the rant, nee

Vitamins backstop an inadequate diet. Nothing more, nothing less. Why is that a controversial idea?

And if Obamacare were so fantastic, it would have lived up to the promises Obama made, like "you can keep your health plan" and "we'll save every family an average of $2500 a year".

Barack Obama lied, people's health care died.
