You nailed it, upnorth! I forgot that all those bldgs the USPS is in are just **leased**! No wonder I am still paying full price for that little metal box in the Post Office lobby! I'd have thought in thirteen years it would be paid for.

Good God Blue. Are you trying to give me a heart attack?? You nailed it with the fed union!!! Now look at some of those buildings down there that the fed's pay rent on. All's I can do is shake my head & laugh.

They are government employees who are highly overpaid. Perhaps they are spending too much overhead.

There is about ten different ways this could be handled, but of course the postal unions won't allow it. For one, I don't understand why a "contract" USPS office can't be in a small store/ business, that would still allow for 8 hr operations. Secondly, not everyone has a computer, internet, or a smartphone. Or they are like me and do not wish to pay recurring bills online.

Pay your bills online. Use Fedex or UPS for the rest. It is 2014.
