Truman may revamp recycling

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. We're going to get people to use a service they've shown no interest in by jacking up the price for it, and providing a replacement for the yellow can they weren't filling up to begin with. Let no one say Truman is behind the times: this idea is so bad it could have come straight from Congress!

Sorry, guys, recycling has to be sold. You favor it? Okay, mount the bully pulpit and tell people why it's in their interest to do it. That's not going to be an easy sell among those of us used to just hauling one can to the curb and, (at least in times past), burning the rest out back. Have fun convincing people that they should pay to provide some guy with raw materials he's going to modify and resell!

By the way, I'm from Truman and I recycle; and would love to see more people do so. But that's not going to be easy. Same as soap or soft drinks: you've got to get out and sell it!
