I love small town politics. I'm sure this will only take a year or 2 of meetings to decide what to do. Much different from the "we need to raise your water rates because you listened to us and reduced your water usage" idiocy. I'm guessing IF the city has an attorney that is worth a*****(and no ones brother in-law is the "criminal" element running the airport) that a "costly" trial can be avoided. If guidelines of the original contract are not being met that would be grounds enough right there. I'm guessing all the other issues would just make it easier to get them removed. Even an old hayseed like me would be able to "figger" a way to do it. But I don't especially like meetings and I wouldn't be especially worried about hurting someone's feelings either. They call it action. Just get it done.

Just a good ol Fairmont boy...being propped up by the good ol boys who have done a brilliant job of running Fairmont...into the ground that is!! Hey why worry about it, the city council brain trust along with their leaders a/k/a city staff have it under control...and your input is neither needed or wanted! So move along ...nothing to see here! Remember these are the brilliant people who brought you a $30 MILLION water plant that pumps drinking water from the stagnant lakes and charges you more for using less! So no worries!!

I am curious when the City of Fairmont **lost** control of their own airport?

There used to be weekend drag races on the airstrip at the (West German) Giebelstadt Air Base I was stationed at in 1973-74. And people say we have NOT lost any freedoms...

blue, the hundreds of thousands in grant money for facility upgrades and maintenence dictate what the facility can or can't be used for.

"blue, the hundreds of thousands in grant money for facility upgrades and maintenence dictate what the facility can or can't be used for."

Well maybe it is time for the City of Fairmont to go it on their own... And tell the Feds to F'off.
