Was this advertised? How do people attend future meetings? Why aren't these people on any of the Fairmont Facebook pages where people are discussing economic growth/problems like: *****://****facebook****/groups/252944581390048/permalink/560794463938390/?comment_id=566850599999443&offset=0&total_comments=14

we need more mom and pop shops. no more thrift stores, no more banks, no more gas stations,no more pizza places and no more grocery stores. Give people a reason to come here. No more of this "well,we don't want 'that sort of element' here"

Here's an idea for growth...Stop trying to micro-manage every little thing, every little whine, every little complaint, that comes across your desks.

Economic growth comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, Industrial, Agri-business, and retail to name a few. I do not want to step on toes or overstep my boundaries, but Fairmont is in dire need of transient revenue. Fairmont and surrounding communities generate revenue that is spread pretty thin to support the local business', they are your bread and butter. But the transient revenue that passes by via I-90 is what will boost your profits and stimulate instant economic growth.

I don't want to say too little too late. However they could've gotten Minnesota West College 20 some years ago and they passed. They wanted to come here and they blew it, now sure it would be nice to have a tech college and I for one am still okay with the idea of it. But this city would be so much better off had they done this back then. Instead were lagging behind of where we should've been.
