Four people are dead after a car-semi accident early Saturday morning north of Welcome. One person was airlifted from the scene. Martin County Sheriff's office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the accident, which occurred at 5:50 a.m. at the intersection of Martin County Road 27 and 180th Street. The deceased and the injured party, all traveling in the car, were reportedly residents of Wantonwan County, all between the ages of 21 and 25 years old. None were wearing seat belts. The driver of the semi was treated and released for minor injuries. The victims identities have not been released. Agencies involved at the scene included Welcome First Responders, Welcome Fire Department, Sherburn Ambulance, Trimont Ambulance, Trimont Fire Department, GoldCross Ambulance, Fairmont Fire Department, Truman Ambulance, Sherburn/Welcome Police Department, Mayo 3, and North Memorial.
