I was born and raised here in Martin County, but honestly never thought I would stay in the area until I was hired as a reporter by the Sentinel in 2004. That's when I started looking at the community of Fairmont and rural Minnesota in general in a new light, and I began to appreciate the quality of life we have here. I have a degree in English with a minor in geography from Minnesota State University in Mankato.
