Welcome to the 21st Century

If you see me walking along, completely occupied by my phone, not watching where I'm going, tripping over cracks in the sidewalk, I can only say this is just a phase ... or at least I hope. Despite my best intentions, I seem to have become one of "those people," thanks to a recent purchase of my first smart smartphone, the HTC EVO.

I am, I confess, addicted. I love my new phone, really and truly I do. I reach for it before my alarm even goes off in the morning, just to see what texts, emails, updates and apps I might have missed in my sleep, and I charge it religiously, lest I be without it in a moment of crisis. Gone is the need for my MP3 player, Tom Tom, voice recorder, guitar tuner, or even a television and computer ...

Oh 21st Century, why did I resist you for so long?
