I, literally, died laughing.

September 7, 2012 - Kylie Saari
If any of you watched Joe Biden at the DNC convention, you know the title of this blog is a little bit of a dig. But this isn't going to be a political blog. It is a grammatical one.

Biden isn't the only one who doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word literal, I have noticed. For those of you who need a refresher, here it is from dictionary.com: actually; without exaggeration.

I understand language changes, and people use it for a time in a certain way and then drop it. I mean, who describes anything as "rad" anymore. But the misuse of literally I, literally, cannot abide.

Perhaps we should start using the word figuratively more often in common parlance, it may be the only way we can, figuratively, change the tide on this issue.
