Too grouchy to blog?

June 7, 2012 - Jennifer Brookens
Yes, I fell a little behind on my normal blogging schedule. First it was jet lag, if you will, doing a whirlwind trip to see my Wisconsin relatives. Perhaps it was too much cheese or being bombarded with political ads and signs that left me feeling ill for the days that followed.

Over the past few years, I have genuinely been working on being a more positive person, but the sad truth is it's tough to do some days. Seeing the general direction of how the world is going (and being in the news business, we kind of have a front-row seat for the madness) it tends to leave me drained. I won't even go there with the message boards... Just too toxic to come out unscathed.

So yes, I will admit I've been in a mood since my mini-vacation that seemed to leave me more exhausted than I already was. But as it turns out, misery loves company. With most of the newsroom recovering from flipping their sleep schedules for the upcoming Hometown magazine we're all a little groggy and grouchy. (It doesn't help when I have a four-year-old who rises with the sun no matter what, and insists that I do the same).

But these storms will pass, as they always do (hopefully) and we'll carry on to the next episode... 'til then, cheers (and less jeers!)
