Referendum Recap

November 9, 2011 - Kylie Saari
As most of you know by now, Fairmont lost its referendum bid and Truman and GHEC passed theirs. But that isn't what struck me the most.

I was at the polling place, both to vote and to observe the process on a non-presidential year. I must say, I was impressed. Every polling official I spoke to at the Knights of Columbus was impressed by the shear number of people who came out to have their voice heard. There was a large number of fresh-faced 18 year-olds eager to vote in their first election.

Both those for and against the questions respectfully came in and out of the building, participating in their right to vote.
