As school gets out for the MEAs next week, my whole family will be taking the time off as well.
But after dreaming of spending those free days looking at beautiful fall colors, maybe taking a little road trip, I am dismayed to see gray skies and most of those leaves blown into my yard.
Yes, I know we needed the rain, and it couldn't stay summer-like forever. But that's the problem with fall vacation: you never really know what the weather will throw at you. If you're dreaming of crisp evenings with bonfires, it will be 70-degrees with a 50 mph wind and burning ban. Want some fun in the sun? Cue the gray clouds to send you back inside. At this point it's looking like my three days off are going to be spent fall cleaning. Yes, vacation time really sounds like a vacation while you're scrubbing kitchen floors and lugging the shop vac to the basement.
Alas, it needs to be done, or else I will feel even grouchier when the first paralyzing snowfall comes. Yeesh!
