Silly me

My last blog was about my indecision on a presidential candidate. Unhappy with both options, I somehow lost sight of an important issue to me that ultimately will decide how I vote in November. I don't side with either party on most issues, but the Grand Old Party has really lost my respect when it comes to equal rights for gays and lesbians. Whoo-eee! Hot topic in this neck of the woods and around the country, this I realize, but I am not going to stop defending the rights of fellow Americans just because their lifestyle makes some people uncomfortable. I have to applaud a "conservative" friend, who decided just because she thinks homosexuality is a sin doesn't mean her belief should be mandated for the rest of the country. Amen sister! After all, the United States wasn't a theocracy the last time I checked.
