Soap opera update

July 17, 2011 - Jodelle Greiner
Yes, ddaughertyjr, you are correct. According to TV Guide Magazine, ABC has made a deal with Prospect Park to put “One Life To Live” and “All My Children” online, but I didn’t mention that because it sounds like a bit of mess.

Apparently, the actors found out about it pretty much the same time as the general public, when the deal was announced, and their reaction was “WHA???”

“How can Prospect Park say it’s continuing our show when there have been no conversations with the actors?” asked one OLTL vet, according to TV Guide.

The clock is already ticking on getting the actors signed. That same story (in the July 18-31 issue, page 8) says Debbie Morgan (AMC’s Angie) has signed with “The Young and the Restless”. Another story in that issue (page 74) says Robin Strasser, who’s played Dorian Lord on OLTL since forever, has shot her last scenes and will be seen for the final time Aug. 25. Strasser is leaving due to back problems and she’s apparently free to return in the future, TV Guide said.

On the upside, TV Guide’s website (sorry, if I put the address, it comes across as asterisks. Do what I do and google everything!) reports there’s “highly reliable buzz” that Susan Lucci has agreed to continue with AMC, but that’s not been confirmed by Prospect Park.

So, no hard facts yet, other than Morgan and Strasser are moving on.
