| | A new way for moms to hate on each otherMay 16, 2011 - Kylie SaariHow foolish I was think parenting wars and backstabbing had reached its zenith with whether to allow pacifiers, television, and when to introduce shoes to little baby feet. But I was so, so wrong. I came across a new blog blowing up mommyland, and I have to admit, it is something I thought about as a young mom, but didn't quite think to start a war over it. The major decisions parents now need to fight about is when a kid should be forced out of a stroller. Toobigforstroller.com encourages people to snap photos of kids would are really too big for a stroller lounging in one to be posted on the website. Some of the photos really make you wonder what these parents were thinking. Since we all now have to take sides on this issue, I will report that my kids never used a stroller because they would scream to high heaven and I couldn't stand the noise. They rode in a Baby Bjorn or baby sling when they were young enough, and when they got heavy they walked. So, if you would like, feel free to start the arguments in the comments, either about strollers or carrying the baby. Either one could cause a riot, it seems. Since no mommy standoff is complete without a listing of what a doctor (any doctor really) says about an issue, I will add this: Doctors say that kids without disabilities should be out of a stroller by the time they are three years old, unless in a highly populated area or for very long walks (think Minnesota State Fair).
