Sign of spring

As I was walking into the Five Lakes Centre this morning, a woman was walking out, carefully carrying a cardboard box from which lots of cheeping was emanating.

Being a farmgirl, the familiar sound brought back lots of memories of when we’d get baby chicks and keep them in a small room just off my grandma’s kitchen until they were big enough to survive outside.

Nothing says spring like lots of little yellow cluckers.
