Ode to the Quarter-Pounder ...
March 1, 2010 - Lee Smith
Some can only see the negative. I cannot.
While they will conjure gray clouds, talking of satured fats, sodium or calories, my sublime memories are too fresh. Melted cheese, salty beef, tangy ketchup, strong onion.
I retort:
Vitamin A, for eye and cell health.
Vitamin C, for metabolic reactions.
Calcium, for strong bones and teeth.
Iron, for healthy blood.
Lots of protein, to maintain muscle.
Dietary fiber, for gastrointestinal health.
They're all in there.
To which I add: Hedonism. Pure pleasure. Life's Vitamin P.
Oh yes, I understand, In moderation. Moderation is a must.
But moderation means some, not none.
Get thee to a McDonald's, friend.
