Thank you for fighting for this country.
Thank you for doing your part so I have to explain to my child what persecution is instead of him experiencing it.
Because of veterans like you, my kids can invite their friends to Awana — right out in the open — no secret signals needed.
Because of veterans like you, I can worry about when I will finally get around to staining my deck instead of worrying if my neighbors will turn me in for questioning authority. I can tell my city government what I think about a roundabout right outside the high school; I can call my legislators and tell them what is important to me; I can stand in a parking lot with a sign declaring to the world what I think.
You and mom raised your first child across the world from your friends and family. You were away from them for extended periods. You sacrificed, and I have never heard you complain about it.
You put your life on the line. You came home and continued to live.
Thank you for protecting my freedom.
