Ah, the holidays

With Halloween behind us, it is time for the annual race to see how long we can celebrate Christmas, that one day event nearly 52 days from now that ... what? There is something I am missing?

Hmmm....

If I think back, way back, to my childhood, I do remember something in between the haunted holiday and the vaunted holiday. Did it have something to do with pilgrims?

Thanksgiving! That is what we used to do in November before it was a month dedicated to shopping for the next month.

I wonder if they teach kids about it in school these days, or has history class been thrown out in favor of a new sports team?

I say we nominate November as Thanksgiving history month, and, as a project, maybe we should do like they did in the old days and wait until this holiday is celebrated to celebrate the next one.

I think I will give it a try. I'll let you know how it works out.
