Making the top 15
October 19, 2009 - Meg Alexander
Wow, how time does fly. It's been more than a month since my last blog, and I've long since finished "The Fountainhead." A chapter (in a 600-plus page book) didn't go by that I didn't want to stop and scribble down a passage after passage and share it on my blog. But who wants to stop and do that while indulging in such a remarkable read?
Needless to say, I strongly recommend this book. Some critiques on www.goodreads.com were annoyed with Ayn Rand for taking a chapter to say what could be summarized in a single paragraph. And I would agree there were a couple times the dialogue between the characters gets a bit lengthy, but overall, I loved it and was surprised and delighted by the thematic similarities in "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" and "The Fountainhead," both of which are now in my top ... 15 books.
