| | The FountainheadSeptember 17, 2009 - Meg AlexanderSorry to anyone who was just dying to suggest my next book (see previous blog) but you're too late! I was just perusing our little private library and decided on "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. I've picked this one up a few times but never gotten beyond the first few pages. What a difference a few years can make. This time around, though only to page 4, I find myself wondering what the heck I was thinking, or not thinking, when I foolishly cast "The Fountainhead" aside. 'Howard Roark laughed. 'He stood naked at the edge of a cliff.' Good grief! Now that's how a book ought to start! Just like a great lead in a newspaper article, something that catches your attention and makes you want to read on to find out who, what, why, when, where and how ... Now we'll see if it holds my attention, but so far, so good. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
