November 28, 2008 - Kylie Saari
Yesterday, my house was filled with food, family, and friends. Of course it was Thanksgiving. There was plenty for everyone there - squash soup, my famous stuffing, turkey, vegetarian turkey, rolls, wheat-free rolls, apple pie, sugar-free wheat-free pumpkin pie, potatoes and sweet potatoes, gravy and vegetarian gravy. There was so much there wasn't enough room on the table. It got me thinking about giving thanks. In our economy, when everyone is facing hard times, myself included, I was easily able to fill a table so full the bounty didn't fit. I filled my modest home with family and friends, and my children were able to change their outfits 3 times during dinner without even putting a dent in their wardrobes. It was excessive and wonderful. A reminder that times are hard, but for most of us, times are good in a way too.
