So. Bleeping. Cold.

January 6, 2014 - Meg Alexander
Here I sit, wearing my snow boots, a poncho, fingerless mittens, a knit cap, and a scarf. No, I am not outside. I've been at work for two hours.

When it's this cold, everything seems to slow down: my circulation, my brain function ... All I want to do is curl up with a blanket in front of a heat vent and drink gallons of hot chocolate. In other words, I want to be 8 years old, with a super indulgent mom, of course, to provide the endless supply of hot chocolate. But I'm not. I'm 30-something, and I'm facing the task of finding a photo for tomorrow's paper that depicts these frigid temps.

How much am I dreading this assignment? Well ... there's a reason I'm blogging. And before blogging, I cleaned up my desk, including sorting through all my old notebooks. The procrastination ends, however, when this blog does, and I'm afraid I can't drag this out much longer.

Maybe while I'm out I'll pick up supplies for this handy DIY warming system. http://www.whydontyoutrythis.com/2013/11/how-to-easily-heat-your-home-using-flower-pots-and-tea-lights.html

Any other tips for keeping warm, my fellow Minnesotans?

Try contacting your state representatives, there is major price gouging going on! Track the money, it goes right back to Wall St again....... another way to make the ol' dollars. stop/slow the supply, the price goes up....same as gasoline. WOnder how many older people without use of a computer will freeze not knowing what to do?
