A pledge to support EMT funding

To the Editor:

As a strong supporter of emergency medical technicians (EMTs), I share concerns raised by folks in our area about the lack of funding for these services in the coming year.

I proudly supported legislative efforts last session that would have funded EMT services. There were two bills to provide funding, and one that made it to Gov. Mark Dayton’s desk that was, unfortunately, vetoed. This was a very disappointing outcome, but rest assured that it is at the top of my priority list next session to restore EMT funding. I know how important these services are to our community, and will ensure that it gets across the finish line next year.
