STEP appreciates grant
To the Editor:
STEP, Inc. would like to publicly thank the Rosen Family Foundation for awarding us a grant to assist in the purchase of a wheelchair lift-equipped vehicle.
This type of vehicle is necessary to transport our clients from their homes to our offices. These vehicles are also used during the day to take our clients to work sites, to appointments, out shopping, to the bank, etc. With nearly 25 percent of our clients using a wheelchair or a walker to assist them with mobility, these vehicles are vital to our business.
We appreciate that the Rosen Foundation understands our client’s needs and is willing to assist us in meeting those needs.

Schools extend thanks
To the Editor:
During this holiday season, we at Fairmont Area Schools are once again reminded of what a generous and thoughtful community we are proud to be a part of. We received many donations for our students, including donations for the elementary school Elf Shop, extra food for students during winter break, and Christmas gifts for students and families.
Also, there were many community members who worked to make the Elf Shop a success.
We want to thank everyone who reaches out to support our students to help them succeed and show them that they matter. We especially want to thank area businesses and their employees including Kahler Automation, Green Plains, Grace Lutheran Church, Bank Midwest, and Jake’s Pizza for the Christmas gift and food drives that were completed to support our students. We’re very thankful for our supportive community.
