A great day
To the Editor:
Martin County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon’s 5th annual Freedom 5K Color Dash on July 4th had more than 200 participants (from ages 1 to 81) strolling, biking, walking and running around Sisseton Lake.
It was a great day for reflection of our country’s freedoms, honoring our military and supporting military families. The show of support was overwhelming and appreciated by all, with family and friends cheering each participant as they crossed the finish line. And, of course, all had fun with the color blast.
Thank you for attending our fundraising event, with 50 percent of all registration going to MCBTYR. Thank you to all those who volunteered making another successful community event, and to our sponsors: Culligan Water, Fairmont Fire Department, Fairmont Police Department, Kwik Trip, Pepsi and Thrivent.
We look forward to serving our military and their families.

To the Editor:
The Board of Heritage Acres and I would like to say thanks to all the volunteers who helped out for our July 4th music festival.
I want to say a special thank you to all those in the food stand, as they really got a workout.
We also want to thank all the sponsors that did the kid’s tractor pull, the bouncy castle, ads in the papers, the grant for the music, and many other things.
This was our 37th year and wer hope we can continue on for many more years.
Thanks to all who furnished pies. We had more than 40 and only a few pieces left.
We thank everyone who came out and hoped you enjoyed the day.
