School appreciates support, help

To the Editor:

Again, I have the opportunity to thank the public, St. Paul’s Lutheran School of Truman and Truman Public School for their graciousness and generosity. When St. James Lutheran School Parent Teachers League realized this fall that the school gym would not be ready to host our annual basketball invitational tournament, both SPL and TPS were happy to allow us to use their facilities on Dec. 2-3. This cooperation allowed us to hold the boys and girls two-day tournament in one town, making it easier and safer for the 16 teams, families and onlookers who wanted to follow both brackets.

SPL also manned a concession at their school, and TPS allowed us to set up our concession in their cafeteria.

I would also like to thank the TPS custodian on duty who was kind and helpful meeting our needs, the administrators and athletic directors at both schools, and parent volunteers from SJLS and SPL that made our tournament a success in the new venues. God continues to bless us through each of you and continues to unveil to us the truly remarkable community of neighbors in which we abide.
