Kiwanis offers its thanks

To the Editor:

The members of the Fairmont Early Risers Kiwanis would like to thank you for the support of the pancake fundraiser that was held recently at Five Lakes Centre in Fairmont. We served nearly 600 hungry supporters. Once again, thank you …

Banquet was a success

To the Editor:

Martin County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon sponsored its sixth annual Christmas banquet for area military families on Dec. 3, with representation of all branches of the military coming together to celebrate Christmas and join in fellowship. For many families, having their loved ones serving on another base, another country, or in being deployed, sharing this day is very meaningful.

We served 300 people a delicious Christmas meal with all the fixings, decorated Christmas cookies, and played on the large blow-up obstacle courses from the Minnesota National Guard.

With servants hearts, our 30 hard-working volunteers cooked, served and cleaned up during the banquet.

Our special guest Santa gave 70 extra large gift bags filled with all sorts of goodies for the children. Dollar Tree employees and their costumers donated these awesome gift bags that every child opened with excitement.

All is possible with your generous donations during the year and MCBTYR fundraising events. Military families appreciate all that is done for them and MCBTYR thanks you.

Merry Christmas and God Bless.
