Thanks to Foundation
To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to honor and thank the Martin County Youth Foundation for its commitment to our area with grants recently awarded to benefit a variety of youth-related activities in our county.
The grant to Fairmont Community Education and Recreation will enhance our after-school science ECO Club program by providing the leadership of a Prairie Ecology Bus Center naturalist on a monthly basis with a special curriculum on ecology for grades 2-6. This grant also makes possible a special free family event from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Cedar Park in Fairmont. You will be able to explore Cedar Park with a Prairie Ecology Center naturalist on a snowshoe adventure. Snowshoes are provided, along with hot cocoa and cookies, to create a wonderful family adventure open to all (pre-registration at CER is encouraged to ensure sufficient snowshoes are available).
Grateful thanks to the Martin County Youth Foundation Board, MCYF contributors and volunteers who make a special difference for the youth and families in our community. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
