FAIRMONT — Funeral services for Darlene A. Isenberg, age 91, of Fairmont,, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at East Chain Evangelical Free Church in rural East Chain. Burial will be in the East Chain Evangelical Free Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Darlene died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Darlene A. Isenberg was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Fairmont, Minn., to Alvin and Melinda (Miller) Milbrandt. She attended school in Fairmont where she graduated with the class of 1945. Darlene did secretarial work and waitressing for her uncle in his hamburger shop. On Nov. 26, 1966, Darlene married Roger Isenberg at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived on a farm in the East Chain area until 2005 when they retired to Fairmont. She loved spending time with family and was thrilled to be with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Roger Isenberg of Rochester, Minn.; seven children, Trina Brown of Fairmont, Byron (Sandra) Brown of Casa Grande, Ariz., Michael (Dixie) Meixell of Fairmont, Alice (Rande) Isenberg of Fairmont, Martin (Kathy) Meixell of Fairmont, Matthew (Elizabeth) Meixell of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Carrie (Tony) Hall of Kasson; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Lila Welchlin of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Berniece Milbrandt of Fairmont; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Melinda Milbrandt; parents-in-law, Carl and Flo Ella Isenberg; two husbands, Ethan Brown and Edward Meixell; brothers, Leslie, Arvin and Donald Milbrandt; sister-in-law, Audrey Milbrandt; and brother-in-law, Milton Welchlin.
