FAIRMONT — A private family burial for Frank P. Nowak, 95, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held in the spring at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Frank passed away peacefully Monday evening, Feb. 4, 2019, at his home in Fairmont, with family by his side.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Francis “Frank” P. Nowak was born March 18, 1923, in Guckeen, Minn., the son of Boleslaus “Ben” and Agnes (Wirth) Nowak. He received his education attending school in Guckeen, Minn. Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army on Feb. 13, 1943, and following a surgery, received his honorable discharge on Aug. 26, 1943.

Frank was united in marriage to Mavis Klein. Together, the couple made their home in Fairmont.

Frank worked for many years in the Sears retail store in Fairmont and also worked for many years as a real estate agent for Century 21 in Fairmont.

Frank loved working in the yard and tending to his garden and flowers, and was known for his plant sales in the summer held at his home.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marilyn J. Hardt; grandchildren, Charles Hardt, Romney (Annette) Hardt, Lisa Rank, and Rory (Tracy) Hardt; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Agnes Nowak; wife, Mavis Nowak; son-in-law, Jerald Hardt; four brothers; and six sisters.
