Sara was born Dec. 30, 1968, in Moline, Ill., to David and Reta (Hess) Shrauner. She grew up in Minneapolis, Minn., and attended Fourth Baptist Christian School during her elementary and secondary years. At the age of 10 years, Sara recognized her sinfulness before God and placed her trust in the Person and work of Jesus Christ as her only hope for forgiveness and eternal life (Romans 10:9). Sara graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College (Owatonna, Minn. – now defunct) with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

While a student at Pillsbury, she met Chad, whom she would marry on Oct. 19, 1991, in Minneapolis. God blessed their union with six beautiful children.

As a pastor’s wife and homemaker, Sara spent her life ministering alongside her husband at churches in Connecticut, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Sara loved to minister to children teaching them the truths of God’s Word through formal opportunities such as Sunday school and VBS, as well as through informal interactions with them.

Sara is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Chad; her six children, Caleb, Rachel, Seth, Megan, Samantha, and Miles; her parents; and her brother, Mitch Shrauner.
