Julie Ann (Krost) Brown was born April 30, 1946, in Fairmont, the daughter of John and Darlene (Buchan) Krost. As a child Julie’s family moved to Minneapolis and Julie graduated from the Holy Angels Catholic High School. She attended college at Mankato State University. Julie enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 7, 1967, and served our country until her honorable discharge on Feb. 2, 1968, at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, Calif. Julie was united in marriage to Robert Brown and this union was blessed with children Betsy, Amy and Matt. In 1989, Julie moved back to the Fairmont and Truman area. While Julie enjoyed making many friends working at State Farm, Kmart and Hy-Vee her main passion was being a mom and a grandma. She is the queen of tradition and made sure to carry on each family tradition with love. The big ones were chocolate angel food cake, goon legs, May baskets and making every holiday a special one by making sure we had plenty of amazing food. Her zest for life included spending time with her grandchildren at the lake, watching their sports, and going to countless dance competitions. Her favorite place on earth was either a cruise with her dad or Disney World with her grandchildren and she got to do both many times. Julie is survived by her loving family: children, Betsy (Nate) Pysick of Cologne, Amy Donovan of Lake Crystal, Matt (Angie) Brown of Granada; grandchildren, Austin and Abby Pysick, Bradley, Joey, Mackenzie and Michael Donovan, Kyle, Kory and Klay Brown; sisters, Nancy (Mark) Christensen, Jane (Steve) Hanson; “little” brother, Mike (Roberta) Smith; her special dog Pokey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Darlene Krost; grandparents, Walter and Dottie Krost, Lloyd and Hannah Buchan. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
