Charles Donald Brownlee

TRUMAN — Charles Donald Brownlee of Truman passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at the age of 81. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at the Truman Church of Christ. Burial will be held later that day at Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation in Truman, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the Truman Church of Christ.

Charley was born Dec. 20, 1936, in Truman, Minn., to Olga (Breitbarth) and Charles Brownlee. He was a Truman High School graduate and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked at 3M for 36 years and retired in 1996.

He was a man full of life and enjoyed traveling, gardening, golf and backpacking. Charley generally loved being outdoors.

He was a member of the Truman Church of Christ as well as the Lions Club. A legacy will be left behind, one that shows his love of God and family, especially his 18 nieces and nephews.

Charley is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynn (Gratz) Brownlee; daughter, Tali Roberts, of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Aly and T.J.; mother-in-law, Bev Gratz; sister-in-law, Maryann Brownlee; numerous special nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edie; brother, Jim; and father-in-law, Ron Gratz.
