LAS VEGAS, Nev, — Philip G. Hanna, 78, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont, Minn.

Philip was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and grew up in Fairmont, Minn., where he graduated from Fairmont High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1960s, and was stationed in various locales, including Thailand. During his eight years of service in the Air Force, Phil learned how to maintain electronics and machinery.

He started Hanna Tools and Machinery in Las Vegas in the early 1970s, which grew to become the largest machinery business in Las Vegas for many years.

Phil enjoyed driving motorcycles, exploring the Nevada deserts and talking with family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Donna Koval; his sister, Kathryn Hanna; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Hanna; many nephews, grand-nephews, stepchildren, grandchildren, friends; and his first wife, Ellie Gette Halterman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Dorothy Hanna; older brother, Bruce; and second wife, Mayuree.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of donor’s choice.
