Roger was born May 4, 1942, in Fairmont, Minn., to Alvin and Dorothy (Schiller) Flohrs. He grew up in the Trimont area and graduated from Trimont High School in 1960. Roger worked as a farmhand throughout school and, after graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for two years, before starting a long career in construction.

Roger worked in construction for most of his life. He supervised the construction of many grain elevators throughout the Midwest and Canada.

In 2007, Roger miraculously survived an aortic aneurysm … and his family was blessed with 10 more years with him.

After his retirement, he slowed down only a little bit. Anyone who knew Roger knew that he was always willing to help. He loved working and stayed busy, helping friends, neighbors, and relatives with any type of job, from mowing lawns to driving a tractor to helping with home fix-it jobs, like painting or small construction projects.

Roger could and would talk to anyone. He was very friendly and outgoing. His family and friends will sadly miss his warm personality, generous and loving heart, and especially his hugs.

Roger is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eileen (Bruegger) Flohrs; three daughters and their families: Kristine (Mike Krafka), Samantha, Stephanie, Aubrey, Jessica, Johnny, and Raeden; Susan (Eric), and Luke Rodelius; Gail (Shawn Clow), Lexi, and Cahlin; two sisters, Darlene (Larry) Anderson and Dianne (Sterling) Adamson; one brother, Lowell (Elaine) Flohrs; and many extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary (Norm) Shaffer; and a nephew, Keith Shaffer.
