Terry was born March 26, 1948, in the Blue Earth Hospital, the son of David and Donna (Peterson) Haase. Terry grew up east of Blue Earth on the old family homestead that was proudly named Haaseville Farm. He enjoyed growing up with his many cousins and loved pheasant hunting and fishing. Terry graduated from Blue Earth High School in June of 1966.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1967 to 1971. Terry served aboard the destroyer USS Rich DD 820 in the western Pacific off the coast of Vietnam, providing fire support to American ground troops.
He returned to Blue Earth and worked for Armon Decorating for 27 years as a flooring installer.
Terry joined the volunteer fire department in 1973 and retired after 20 years in 1993. He supported the annual fireman’s dance and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #89.
On Feb. 5, 1990, Terry married the love of his life, Linda Moore, daughter of Connie & Ann (Sullivan) Moore of Blue Earth.
He enjoyed making sure the town was still standing cruising the loop and was forever sorry he gave up his 1957 Chevy. Terry would want to thank Hannibal Haase along with the Wednesday card playing group for the many years of good times.
Terry is survived by his stepdaughter, Heather Olawsky and family of Elk River; stepson, Mike Moore of Fairmont; sons, Dan Haase and family of Woodbury, Andrew Haase and family of Hudson, Wis.; and daughter, Melissa Steffensmeier and family of North Mankato.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David (1987) and Donna (1989); and his wife, Linda (1994).
