CEYLON — A funeral service for Anna Mae Iverson, 88, of Fairmont, formerly of Ceylon and Dolliver, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont.

Anna Mae passed away Friday morning, Feb. 17, 2017, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Lakeview Funeral Home.

Anna Mae (Prust) Iverson was born Nov. 6, 1928, in Ceylon, Minn., the daughter of Otto and Anna (Senf) Prust. She was baptized on Dec. 17, 1928, and confirmed on May 24, 1942, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon. Anna attended District 17 country school and graduated from Ceylon High School in 1946. She then attended Mankato Commercial College and worked as a secretary for Blanchar Corporation at Fox Lake for two years.

Anna Mae was united in marriage to Gerald Iverson of Dolliver, Iowa, on Sept. 4, 1949, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon. They farmed near Dolliver until March of 1952, when Gerald was drafted into the U.S. Army. After basic training, he was sent to Arlington, Va. and Anna Mae went with him. They stayed there until November of 1954 and then returned to farm near Dolliver.

Anna Mae and Gerald spent several winters in Mesa, Ariz. When in Arizona she did volunteer work in the office of Eternal Life Lutheran Church.

Gerald passed away on Aug. 2, 1982.

Anna Mae along with her sister, Alice, moved to the Maplewood Residence in Fairmont in 1996. Anna Mae and her sister knitted many lap robes and sent them to the Veterans Hospital.

Anna Mae is survived by a very special family, Ken and Coleen Herum of Dolliver and their sons, Darren (Rhonda), Scott, and Calvin (Kristen); very special couple, Mary and Jerry Milow who helped her with everything; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Anna Prust; husband, Gerald Iverson; four brothers, Walter, Lawrence, Bertram and Robert Prust; three sisters, Laura Detert, Evelyn Detert and Alice Hemphill.
