Mary A. Armbrust

FAIRMONT — Funeral services for Mary A. Armbrust, 79, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Minn., with Pastor Wade Daul officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairmont.

Mary passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 13, 2016, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary Ann (Schwieger) Armbrust was born Jan. 15, 1937, on the family farm in Fraser Township, Minn., to Theodore and Lena (Roth) Schwieger. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She received her elementary education at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1954.

She was employed as a nursing assistant for 21 years at Lakeview Methodist Health Services in Fairmont.

Mary was united in marriage to Donald L. Armbrust on May 23, 1992, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. After Don passed away on Aug. 14, 1997, Mary then retired to devote her time to taking care of her elderly mother.

Mary was a very kind and loving person. She was always willing to help whenever and wherever she was needed. She loved to bake and often supplied delicious treats for the members of the Tuesday morning Bible class. Mary also loved to sing and was a member of the Immanuel adult choir for a number of years.

She is survived by her sisters, Luverna Hartmann, Dorothy Anderst, and Lois Swenson of Fairmont, Minn., Eunice Day of Fresno, Calif., and Marlene (Danile) Griffith of Eden Prairie, Minn.; brothers, Lynn (Devorah) Schwieger and Gerald (Marian) Schwieger of Fairmont, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Ruth Schwieger of Fairmont, and Doris Schwieger of Truman; stepdaughters, Jolene Armbrust of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Patricia (Larry) Hoffbauer of Sunman, Ind.; stepsons, Philip Armbrust of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Darrell (Kathy) Armbrust of St. Cloud, Minn.; sister-in-law, Fern Bulfer of Fairmont; and brothers-in-law, Albert (Muriel) Armbrust of Truman, Minn., and William (Audrey) Armbrust of Rosemount, Minn.; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Armbrust; parents, Theodore and Lena Schwieger; brothers, Milton, James, and Delbert Schwieger; sister-in-law, Erline Schwieger; and brothers-in-law, Wilbert Hartmann, Roland Anderst, Orland Day and Donald Swenson.

The family requests memorials be given in Mary’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont.
