Firefighters hosting pancake feed Sunday
WELCOME — Maybe it’s all in my head, but when it becomes February, I feel that spring is nearer. Kind of over the hump.
You can celebrate by going to the Welcome Fire Department’s pancake feed from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Welcome Legion.
The menu includes pancakes, sausage, fried potatoes, and beverage. The cost is a donation. Make checks payable to Welcome Fire Department Relief Association.
Prizes for the raffle to raise funds for equipment will be drawn at the event.
Welcome area senior citizens will meet for their monthly meeting with a noon potluck meal Monday, with fellowship to follow. All area senior citizens are encouraged to attend.
There will be a Red Cross blood drive in Trimont from 1-7 p.m. Monday.
Also, there will be a blood drive in Ceylon from 1-6 p.m. Thursday and from Feb. 19-21 in Fairmont.

There will be a Relay For Life of Martin County committee and team captains meeting 5:30 p.m. Monday in the main meeting room at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont.
Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. There is always a time for public comments at the beginning of each meeting.
There will be another Burger Bash fundraiser for the Summer Festival from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Welcome Legion. The menu includes burgers, fries, cheese curds, onion rings, jalapeno poppers and beverage. Stay for the performance of the band “Burnt Toast.”
Condolences to the family of Larry Hartwig who passed away last week due to a snowmobile accident. He will be missed, gone too soon.
