STEP collecting old lights

TRUMAN — STEP is at it again, collecting old or non-working holiday lights, electric cords, telephone cords or appliance cords.

Please, no cord adapters or battery packs.

You can drop off your lights or cords at the Truman Public Utilities office, in the office entryway at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman.

Today is the last day to turn in your toys or cash donations for Truman Toys for Tots. If you still want to contribute a toy or make a cash donation, call Candace Shahan at (507) 236-6988 and she will assist you.

Thank you, Candace, and your son Ian for making a child’s wish come true this holiday season. Thank you also to everyone who made a contribution and to Profinium and Elizabeth Chevrolet for being collection sites.

Lewisville American Legion Auxiliary soup and sandwich luncheon will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lewisville Legion. They will be serve a variety of soups and sandwiches. There will be a bake sale and Santa will be there too.

Truman City Council meets 5:30 p.m. Monday. All meetings are open to the public.

Truman School Board will meet 6 p.m. Monday.

Truman High School band and choir concert begins 7 p.m. Monday in the elementary school auditorium. They will be joined by the Truman Area Community Band and Choir.

Wednesday is the last recycling day for 2018. Place your recycling container curbside by 7 a.m. with all cardboard broken down.

Just a reminder that your sidewalk needs to be shoveled within 24 hours after a snowfall and your vehicle moved. These are city ordinances and you could be ticketed.
