Cookie Walk scheduled for Dec. 1

TRUMAN — It’s “Truman Time” on KNUJ AM Radio from New Ulm at 3:15 p.m. Monday. Mayor Lynn Brownlee will give us an update about all the events happening in Truman.

CREST will participate in the “Healthy Living Expo” from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday at Five Lakes Shopping Center in Fairmont. Stop by and visit with them about CREST services, support groups, Lunch and Learns, classes on improving your balance, on taking care of yourself as a caregiver, or on volunteering.

Truman High School class of 2021 will work at McDonald’s from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday. Part of the proceeds and tips will go to the class. What a great opportunity to support our youth and not have to cook.

If you enjoy getting creative with paint, this class is for you. Come and learn how to make your own unique paintings using acrylic paint-pouring techniques. All materials will be provided.

You can choose to paint on an 8-inch by 10-inch canvas, a record, or a set of four 4-inch by 4-inch ceramic tiles.

You must register by Dec. 1 for this class that will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Truman High School home ec room. This class is for high school students through adults. The cost is $20 per project. The instructor is Jessica Schwantes Greve of Tree Ring Art.

The 23rd annual Cookie Walk will be 8-10 a.m. Dec. 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 102 N. Seventh Ave. E., in Truman. You can choose from a large selection of fancy holiday cookies, caramels, candies, kringla, party mix, etc., and then pay for the items you choose per pound. Containers will be provided.

You can also enjoy goodies along with cider and coffee for a donation.

Come and join the fun shopping experience and let Trinity help you with your holiday baking.

Martin County Pork Producers Ambassador Scholarship open to high school seniors or college students to age 21 is available to students whose family is in the pork industry or are pursuing an agriculture-related field. Deadline to apply is Jan. 8, 2019.

o Dec. 2 — Third annual beef commercial meal and Sunday school craft/bake sale from 11:18 a.m. to 1:05 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Antrim in rural Truman.

o Dec. 3 — at 6 p.m. at City Hall is the 2019 proposed property tax meeting for any appeal to your home value.

o Dec. 6 — Chili Supper fundraiser for gymnasium scoreboard from 5-7 p.m. in the Truman Public School cafeteria.

o Dec. 8 — Holiday Craft and Home Business Bazaar ,along with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Circle’s bake sale from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., all at the Truman Community Building.

Lunch will be sponsored by the Truman High School After-Prom committee.

o Dec. 10 — Truman Elementary Christmas concert

o Dec. 11 — Santa’s Shopping Spree for children in grades K-6 at the Truman Community Building from 3:30 – 5 p.m.

o Dec. 17 — Truman High School band and choir Christmas concert.
