Ceylon festival coming up

CEYLON — Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum in Ceylon will be open from 1-3 p.m. today. The museum is located across the street from the post office and west of the bank.

The museum also plans to be open 1-3 p.m. July 15 for any visitors to the Ceylon Festival.

St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will continue the coffee hours in July beginning 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Join friends and neighbors for good brew and good fellowship.


Ceylon City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ceylon City Hall. All members are urged to attend.

There is always a time for public comments at the beginning of each meeting. To be put on the regular agenda, please contact the city clerk prior to the meeting at (507) 632-4653 or stop by the city hall.


Ceylon Legion and Sons of the Legion will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Legends 2/Legion building. All members are urged to attend.


Friendly Neighbors Card Club will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Shirley Schmidt. All members are urged to attend.


Circle your calendars and plan to attend the second annual Ceylon Festival on July 15.

Vendors, flea market and the vehicle show will begin 11 a.m.

Registration for the car, tractor, motorcycle, and semi-truck show runs from 10 a.m. to noon. The People’s Choice award for the top two in each class will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.

There will be a parade at 4:30 p.m.

Entertainment from Mark Johnson’s Classic Country will run from noon to 4 p.m.
