Truman Days parade seeking help
TRUMAN — Truman Days Parade Committee is still in need of donations for this year’s parade.
Your donation can be sent to Melody Leimer, 402 Ciro St., Truman, MN 56088.
Because of donations, Truman has been able to put on a nice parade that is enjoyed by many in the area.
No one has come forward yet to volunteer to help organize the parade for next year. Volunteers are needed in the next couple of weeks to ensure that there will be a parade next year. Contracts need to be signed with parade participants one year in advance, so please consider volunteering to help. If several people volunteer, it will not be an overwhelming job for anyone. Past parade committee members are willing to help guide the process — help is needed soon.
Truman farmers market is held 3-6 pm. every Friday along Highway 15 by the Napa Store. If you have garden produce, flowers, eggs, etc., that you would like to sell, just come and set up on the grassy area. There is no charge to set up items for sale.
Shoppers: remember that this is a great time of year to get good fresh produce and other items. We want to keep the farmers market going, so come out and see what items are for sale.
Friday at midnight is the deadline to turn in your garage sale applications for this year’s flyer. Please respect the deadline. The fee is $15, which is used for advertising and printing of the garage sale maps and descriptions. Check Truman stores for application forms or get one from Barb Mager or Kathy Hendricksen.
The flyers that describe the sale locations and items for sale will available to the public July 21 at Truman stores. The garage sales will be held July 26-29.
Be sure to check flyers for garage sale dates and times. Each individual sale determines their times and dates. Some are open one day, some two and some three. The garage sale organizers really stress that sales do not start earlier than what is listed in the flyer.
