Museum ready to re-open

WELCOME — This Sunday is Easter Sunday and I hope you and yours have a very happy and safe Easter. It also happens to be April 1, so we’re hoping the weather doesn’t play an April Fools’ joke on us.

n

Easter services in area churches include:

Easter vigil at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran in Welcome, then Easter Sunrise service at 7:30 a.m., with a breakfast to follow.

Circle of Faith parishes also have an opportunity to worship at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Ceylon’s St. Peter Lutheran Church or 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Waverly Lutheran Church, north of Welcome.

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome will have an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday followed by a pancake breakfast and an Easter egg hunt.

All area residents are invited to join these churches for any service to celebrate Easter.

n

There will be an Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Welcome Fire Department at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Welcome School. Children are asked to bring a container and parents should accompany smaller children.

n

Senior citizens will meet for their monthly noon potluck meal Monday at the Welcome Legion, with fellowship to follow. All area senior citizens are welcome.

n

Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time at the beginning of the meeting for public comments.

n

Another sign of spring … Welcome Historical Society Museum will be open 2-4 p.m. April 7. The members are planning to clean that day and any help would be very much appreciated. Please come at 2 p.m. to clean.
