Northrop elevator burns
A fire broke out about 5 a.m. Friday at the grain elevator in Northrop. No injuries were reported. The area near the elevator was evacuated as a precaution to keep nearby residents safe.
Nearly 30 different fire, ambulance and police crews responded to the emergency.
The fire came one day after an explosion blew the top off the elevator, with debris damaging several nearby homes, businesses and vehicles.
The elevator is owned by LB Pork of Northrop.
