Truman OKs levy renewal

TRUMAN — Truman School District voters on Tuesday approved the renewal of an operating levy. The vote was 268-54 in favor.

The levy will support academics through curricular upgrades, as well as support learning through technology.

The levy renewal is good for 10 years and is for a per pupil unit amount of $1,158.

For this particular levy, agricultural property will only pay taxes on the value of the house, garage and one acre.

Truman Superintendent Virginia Dahlstrom had previously noted how much the school relies on the levy.

“This is very good,” Dahlstrom said Tuesday night after the referendum passed.

The majority of public schools in Minnesota receive excess levy revenue.
