Pancake fundraiser March 5

CEYLON — This upcoming Wednesday is March 1, and it’s also Ash Wednesday, which is the beginning of Lent. Area churches will have mid-week Lenten services which start on Wednesday.

St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon is part of the Circle of Faith parishes, which will meet for Ash Wednesday services 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.

The dual congregations of Our Savior’s and St. Paul’s-Wilbert will meet for their Ash Wednesday service with communion at 6:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran in Ceylon. These two congregations will share midweek Lenten services with services alternating between them.

All area residents are welcome to join these churches for Lenten worship.

St. Peter Lutheran Ladies group will meet 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ceylon for their monthly meeting. All members are urged to attend.

St. Peter ladies and women who have join them from Ceylon and the surrounding towns in the area have been busy quilting for missions all winter. They’ll have their last sessions for this year at 9 a.m. March 8-9 at the church in Ceylon.

Ceylon Fire Relief Association will have a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon March 5 at the Legends 2/Ceylon Legion building. Cost is a free will donation to the relief association.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, French toast, scrambled eggs, and beverage. Plan now to attend and have good food for a good cause.
