Truman Pride has winter blues cure
TRUMAN — Come to the Truman Library from 1:30-5:30 p.m. today and join in on the newest trend — coloring for adults. De-stress and relax while coloring beautiful designs. All supplies are provided.

Truman Community Education is sponsoring a watercolor class for those ages 13 and older called “Ocean Scene” that will be taught by Ellen Borkenhagen on Jan. 26.

Lewisville Commercial Club is sponsoring “Crazy Keys Dueling Pianos” for a couple hours of entertainment on Friday night at the Lewisville Legion. The doors open at 7 p.m. This event is free to the public and is appropriate for all ages.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman is hosting an ordination service for Pastor Kent Krumwiede at 11 a.m. Saturday. A meal will follow the service. All are welcome to attend. Kent will serve two churches in the Ashby, Minn., area. Kent calls Truman his home town, so it’s an honor to be a part of this special time in his professional career.

Truman Lions Club burger bash will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Truman Community Building. Enjoy a burger or two, chips, beans, beverage and fellowship, all for a great cause.

Help cure those winter blues by getting out of the house for some fun with your friends and neighbors. Join Truman Pride for open gym 4-6 p.m. each Sunday at the Truman High School gymnasium. A variety of activities will be available such as basketball, volleyball, jump roping, playing catch, walking or even just socializing. All are welcome to come for exercise, fellowship and fun.

There is a class from 9-11 a.m. every Tuesday until March 7 for seniors interested in balance control at Truman Senior Living. There will be group discussions, problem solving, sharing practical solutions and most importantly, exercise training to improve your balance, increase your flexibility and strengthen the muscles that help you move.
It’s sponsored jointly by CREST volunteers and the Truman Senior Living facility. You can register for the classes by contacting Deb Schneider at (507) 776-2013. A donation of $10 is recommended, but not required, to defray the cost of booklets.

Do you want to exercise but just can’t find the motivation or energy? Are you looking for a positive change? Join others that feel the same way and have both accountability and fun. Work at your own pace. Anyone interested in exercising can come to the Truman Public School activities room from 4-4:45 p.m. every Wednesday (in the elementary school wing) to exercise include walking, light weights, stretching, cardio and more. Bring a set of weights and a mat if you have them.
There is no cost to be part of this exercise group.
