One-vehicle crash occurs near Wells

FAIRMONT — A man and a woman from Alden suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 109 in Faribault County on Monday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The accident occurred at 8:31 p.m. near Wells. David Ray Masters, 42 was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra with passenger Michelle Ann Masters, 44. The vehicle was eastbound on the highway when the driver lost control, and the vehicle entered the ditch and rolled. The pair were transported to the Mayo medical center in Albert Lea.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office and the Wells Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Behavioral health service offered

FAIRMONT — Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont is now offering behavioral health services to patients in its Emergency Department via telemedicine. These services include assessment, treatment and placement for outpatient or inpatient behavioral health needs.

“On any given day, a number of patients come to our local Emergency Department who are medically stable, but who otherwise are in crisis,” said Dr. Kim Schutterle, an emergency medicine physician at Mayo-Fairmont. “Through the use of technology, we can now connect those patients experiencing a behavioral crisis with the right resources when they’re needed.”

Behavioral health services via telemedicine are being offered at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont by Behavioral Healthcare Partners, a Minnesota-based network for more than 5,000 behavioral health provider sites.

Opera House to host event Friday

FAIRMONT — Fairmont Opera House will host a diverse musical event on stage Friday. Paying homage to one of the greatest bands of all time, Zeppelin Experience delivers a performance preserving the essence of the iconic Led Zeppelin quartet.

The Zeppelin Experience, a group that hails from the metro area, will rock the Opera House at 7:30 p.m. Friday. This event was added to the schedule after the regular season began, and current season ticket holders may contact the Opera House office directly to buy tickets to this show at their original discounted subscription series rates. Reserved-seating tickets for this event is available to the public now, online at, and through the Fairmont Opera House office at (507) 238-4900. The lobby opens for ticket door sales/merchandise sales and Social Hour begins one hour prior to the performance.
